Believe Everything Happens for a Reason. If You Get a Chance, Take It!


I am Amanda and this is my 1 year anniversary at Fit Club! I am so excited and proud of what the past year has brought.

I never thought I would be where I am today. When I started Fit Club I was overweight weak tired and felt hopeless. I tried to get my health under control but nothing I did on my own worked.



I joined Fit Club with low expectations. I was shocked by the coach the workout style, the people, and the entire vibe.



The support I got was unreal and I had an instant new Family. I have achieved so much this past year including losing over 50 pounds!!! and I am so proud of myself. I truly could not have done any of it without the Fitfam by my side or my coach RJ.



RJ held my hands when I was scared to box jump and held my feet up was doing crunches. He is there to be my cheerleader and guide me through the times when I don't believe in myself. I feel like things happen for a reason and people enter your life when you need them.



I will always be so grateful for my FitFam and my friend and coach RJ. I don't know how he did it but Rj created a unique space where you can grow inside and out and develop new bonds and friends while making getting healthy fun. Ty RJ for all that you have done for me, TY Ashley for asking me MANY times to come, and Thank you to the whole Fitfam.



Last I need to say Thank you to my kids who make me want to be the best me. XOXO, Love you all!

Don't Wait for the Right Time!


Hello! I’m Gillian and I recently completed my 100th workout at Fit Club.


Before joining Fit Club, and pre-COVID, I had been training at a different gym for several years doing a mix of boot camps and power lifting. First, my trainer moved so I was looking for a new gym, but shortly thereafter COVID hit. It isn’t easy to find a good gym during a pandemic. I became very sedentary for the next 2+ years, while also over-extending myself, supporting others who were struggling. Some midlife weight had crept on, and was proving very stubborn to lose.


I felt stuck, and realized I needed to start making myself a priority. After a long, unplanned hiatus from working out, I was nervous about getting started again at a new gym. The training style at FitClub is different from my previous gym and I was concerned I would miss the heavy power-lifting component. And, being accustomed to small group training, the idea of these bigger classes at FitClub was intimidating!


As it turns out, the large group size is one of the many things I LOVE about FitClub! If you are lacking energy or motivation, you just need to step OTB and borrow it from someone else - there is plenty to go around!


In every way, FitClub is the change my mind and body needed. I joined with a goal to lose some weight, but have also reclaimed other physical and mental health benefits: I feel strong and healthy, I am enjoying possibly the best physical fitness and endurance of my life, and who doesn’t love the mood-boosting, stress-relieving benefits of getting your endorphins flowing!


Fit Club is not what you might expect in a typical gym. They have created an inclusive community where everyone is welcome - just come as you are. The atmosphere is FUN and encouraging, with a positive energy you feel the moment you walk through the door.


The coaches create safe but challenging workouts that are easily modified or enhanced for every fitness ability. Simply show up and they take care of the rest.

Previously, I was NOT an early morning person, but I have been choosing to hit the gym early to get my day off to the right start. Coach Jenn, you always bring the energy, motivation and humour and make my 5:30am wake ups easy! Who knew?!


If anyone is considering joining a gym, I would definitely encourage you to give Fit Club a try! Just take that first step and get started. Start showing up for yourself and your personal health and well-being. Don't wait for the right time - it may never come. Don't wait to find your motivation - taking that first step, and then showing up a few times a week with the right attitude will lead your motivation to rise.


Passion is not a prerequisite at Fit Club. But I can almost guarantee that your passion (and dare I say "obsession") will be the result of your workouts at Fit Club.


As they say, every journey begins with a simple, single step. I am SO grateful that I chose to start mine at Fit Club!

Battle Back, Get Healthy, Find what Works for You


I' ’ve just completed my 1000 workout, I started in September 2019 and it took 2 1/2 yrs to get to this point.

Most of my workouts have been at Fit Club North while some have been on the virtual platform.


Absolutely the biggest changes have been my endurance, physical shape, weight, body image, I’m in the best shape of my life now.

My heart rate no longer skyrockets, I don’t mind seeing myself in a mirror or am I embarrassed to go shirtless in the summer, I went from an xl to a medium, and have stayed at a medium to this day, and now I can actually run and play sports close to what l used to be able to do years ago. I’m happy with that.


Aside from Covid my biggest obstacles has been injuries and available time. A shoulder injury has prevented me from working out at 100% on some things and work limited my availability, but now that I’m retired and also going for surgery soon, I now can workout on the blue more often and will soon be able to push myself further as well. I plan my day around my workouts now. It’s a priority for me.


My 3 contributing factors in starting this journey were

-motivation to get back into shape,

-being healthy for my kids and Cheryl and

-not wanting to quit sports.

I didn’t like what I had become, I was in horrible shape and wanted to to be able to look in a mirror without disgust. The Fit Club program help make that happen.

I wanted to enjoy growing old and retiring, being able to help my kids with their projects, being in shape for Cheryl, and get out and do things with them and contribute to life.

Also sports, I couldn’t play hockey, baseball or frisbee anymore but now I’m back doing all of that and more.

I’d like to thank RJ and the coaches at Fit Club and Cheryl.

The coaches and their dedication to making you better every day, the variety of workouts, and their energy while working and the energy in the room are huge motivational factors. 1% better everyday.

And of course Cheryl, being able to do this with her has been awesome, she’s my rock, as we both wanted to be better this was a perfect solution, this was and is our challenge together.


My advice to my past self would be, don’t let yourself go, but if you do, don’t give up, battle back, get healthy, find what works for you and be the best you can at whatever it is you do. Make it a priority in your life.

Sometimes you’ll be disappointed in your lack of results but eventually things start to change for the better. Trust the process.
